Adee "Dee" Adams

Adee "Dee" AdamsAdee "Dee" Adams, 85, peacefully slept away into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at his residence.

Adee was born October 12, 1921, in Grayburg, Texas to Dock and Alberta Adams.  He attended public school in Galveston and was a 1939 graduate of Central High School and remained an active member of his class. Adee accepted Christ at an early age at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. His most recent church affiliation was at Avenue L as a Church Musician. He joined the U. S. Navy in 1941 and played in the U.S. Naval Air Station band in Atlanta, GA. He was a passionate musician who played in many local bands and area churches. He also worked and retired from Plantowsky's, and then later worked at Sussans.

Preceding him in death are his parents, sister, Adell; daughter, Sonja; son, Alfred and granddaughter, Consuella. He also leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years, Kathleen Adams, daughters Ann (Ron) Arrington and Barbara Buchanan; grandsons, Andre Douglas, Michael Douglas, Nicholas Mills, Nicholas Arrington and Trevor Arrington; his honorary sons, Hal Smith, Curley Kar and Ronnie Milton and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held on Monday, April 9, 2007, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., when a service celebrating his life will begin at the Avenue L Baptist Church with Rev. Don Henderson, presiding and Rev. Timothy Allen, Sr., eulogist. He will be entombed in the Lakeview Cemetery Mausoleum.
