The Grand Kids Festival, renamed the Grand Kids Bazaar, with many of the events moved indoors because of the threat of rain, got underway as scheduled at 10 a.m., with a welcome by Maureen Patton, executive director of The Grand 1894 Opera House. 

The festival will continue until 5 p.m. on Postoffice Street in Historic Downtown Galveston.
