Ordeen "Beeter" Dorsey

Ordeen "Beeter" DorseyOrdeen's earthly journey ended when he received his call from labor to reward on Wednesday, April, 11, 2007, at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City.

Born on October 6, 1934, in Galveston to the union of George Dan and Ina Dent Dorsey he was given the name, Ordeen Dan Roy Dorsey. He was a graduate of Central High School and was a retired insurance agent for Universal Life (now American Capitol) Insurance Co.. He was a faithful member of First Union Baptist Church for many years and was also a member of the Top Hat Men Social and Charity Club and enjoyed participating with the Central Gathering.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, George.

He leaves with cherished memories, his daughter Berna Dean Harris-Frier; granddaughter, Alisha Lu'Nacy Frier both of Baltimore, MD.; brother, David Dorsey (Geraldine); sister, Mary Louise Johnson both of Texas City; extended family, Dawn Gloria DeForrest of Hallsville, MD, Bertha Haley of Winfield, LA, Reva Baziel of Alexandria, LA, Michael and Maquester Harris both of Houston; Goddaughter, Amy Woodard also of Houston; host of nieces, nephews, other relative and friends.

Viewing will begin at 4PM on Wednesday, April 18th, followed by a memorial service from 7-8:30 p.m. at E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary. A service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 19, 2007, at the First Union Baptist Church with Pastor David L. Everson, officiating. He will be laid to rest in Lakeview Cemetery.
