Maxine Lucille "Granny" HamerMaxine Lucille “Granny” Hamer, 82, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Gulf Health Care Center in Texas City, Texas. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 pm that night at the funeral home.

Maxine was born May 16, 1924 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She loved to crochet and ride the bus just to talk with people. While in the hospital she would go from room to room visiting the sick. She also loved to travel, especially Washington State and loved to visit Disney Land. She was a member of Jesus Christ  of Later Day Saints Church.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, James Hamer and daughter, Linda Bleam, Maxine is survived by her daughters, Jeanne La Bauve of La Marque and Susan Hamer Garrison of Ionia, Michigan; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
