Mrs. Lois Dean Hood passed from this life Monday, April 23, 2007, in Houston.
Born September 25, 1918 in Kansas City, Kansas, Mrs. Hood had been a resident of Santa Fe since 1978. She was a member of Arcadia Christian Church, Rebecca Lodge #138 in Alvin, Home Extension Club in Algoa, Senior Citizens Club, had been a former secretary at Foleys and Joskeys and enjoyed playing cards.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Close Hood; sons, Henry Dwayne Hood and Michael Douglas Hood; parents, John Walter Paslay and Maude Estelle (Glidewell) Durbin; sisters, Viola Silvia Paslay and Betty Sue Durbin.
Survivors include her son, Carl David Hood of Santa Fe; grandson, Dwayne Hood of Elkton, MD; great-grandchildren, Joey Hood, Bobbi Hood; brother Earl Durbin and wife, Joan of Ashland, NB.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2007, at Arcadia Christian Church, 1301 Beriton (409) 925-3551, with Pastor Tom Medlin officiating. A private interment will be at South Memorial Park Cemetery in Pearland under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home (409) 925-3501.
Casketbearers will be Mike Arteberry, Dean Butler, Luke Loeser, Roland McGinnis, Ell Simpson and David White.
