Gladys Ruth Hogan Joseph

Gladys Ruth Hogan JosephGladys Ruth Hogan Joseph was born on Galveston Island to the union of the Granville T., Sr. and Annie Bell Noah Hogan.

Gladys was a 1948 graduate of Central High School; and was an active member of Progressive Baptist Church in Texas City; active with the Noah-Cahee Family Reunion Committee and held the office of secretary for her Central Class of 1948.
She was a quiet and gentle person who loved the Lord and her family. She will be greatly missed by her loved ones and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, G. T. Hogan, Sr. and Annie Bell Hogan; her husband, Wesley Joseph, Jr.; and brother, G. T. Hogan, Jr.; her legacy of love and devotion will forever be cherished by her children, Winifred Joseph Lewis of Texas City; Vernell Joseph and wife, Dana of Friendswood and Belenthia Diane "B.B." Joseph of LaMarque; her brothers, Jerrol Hogan of LaMarque and Rodney Hogan of Galveston; four loving grandchildren, Delcolm, Shaunice, Taylor and Kolby Joseph; devoted goddaughters, Tracy Patterson and daughter, Cenise Lynn Chopp of Houston and Monique Chargois of Texas City, a loving aunt, Esther Noah of New Iberia; a sister-in-law, Ophelia Wilson of California; a brother-in-law, Lethaniel Gage (Ceola) of Missouri; her loving extended family and a host of other family members, classmates, her Progressive Church Family and many dear friends and neighbors.

A Service celebrating Gladys' life will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, April 27, 2007, at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church 5820 FM 1765 in Texas City with Pastor Jonathan D. Steele, Sr., officiating.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until service time Friday at the church.  She will be laid to rest beside her husband and parents on Saturday, April 28, 2007, at 10:00 AM at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock under the direction of E. R. Johnson and John N. Humphrey, funeral directors and the staff of E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary of Galveston.
