 Stephen M.B. Steinbach, age 94, died Sunday, April 29, 2007 at Harborview Care Center in League City. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, Bishop Harry Eulitt officiating. Burial will follow at Oleander Cemetery in Galveston, under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Mr. Steinbach was born November 2, 1912 in Galveston, Texas to William Forbous Steinbach and Ida Ella Durnett Steinbach. He retired from the Union Carbide Company as a Senior Clerk and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Mr. Steinbach is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 67 years, Marjorie Bima Steinbach and a son, Joseph W. Thompson, Jr. Survivors include sons, Ronald M. Steinbach and wife Kay Lynn of Trinity, Texas, and Rodney W. Steinbach and wife Marianne of Houston; daughter, Laurie L. Marshall and husband Jack of Galveston; 4 grandchildren, Kaeri Steinbach and wife Tressa, Ira Marshall, Sr. and wife Iris, Aubrey Marshall and wife Melissa and Jay Steinbach; 9 great grandchildren, Eric and Dylan Steinbach, Devin and Tiaj Hearnes, Erial, Marley , Kameron, and Ira Marshall, Jr, and Alexys Steinbach; numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers are Tim Orr, Jay Steinbach, Kaeri Steinbach, Aubrey Marshall, Ira Marshall, Sr., and Eric Steinbach.
