Carnes Brothers Funeral Home

Celia MartinezCelia Martinez, 54, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, May 11, 2007 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston, Texas with Rev. David Gomez officiating. Graveside services will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Galveston, Texas. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home, Thursday, May 10, 2007 with a Devotional Service at 7:00 pm.

Celia was born on June 30, 1952 to David and Jesusita Vielmas Sustaita in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated from Hitchcock High School. Celia was a devoted homemaker, caring for her family and others that needed her care. She worked for Hill’s Washateria for 10 years before she became ill.

Preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Sustaita, Ruth is survived by her husband, Sergio Martinez of Galveston; daughters, Jesusita Jimenez and husband, Bernardo and Yolanda Vasquez and husband, Benjamin all of Galveston; son, Paul Casas and wife Dalia of Texas City; sisters and brothers; five grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Martin Valdez, Nuno Valdez, Gary Valdez, Edwin Munoz, Uvaldo Rodriguez and Carlos David Alvarez. Honorary pallbearers are Danny Herrera and Roland Ovalle.
