"We expect fairly high traffic," said Mark L. Rodriguez, engineer and maintenance supervisor for the Galveston-Port Bolivar Ferry System.  "We are geared up, our landings are operational, our ferry vessels are operational and we are going to do everything we can to make it a safe and pleasurable traveling weekend. 

Rodriguez said problems with the design of the new ferry landings "are in the process of being resolved."
