HITCHCOCK – Mrs. Joan Elaine Perry passed from this life Sunday evening, May 27, 2007, at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City.

Born January 30, 1935 in Mobile, Alabama, Mrs. Perry had been a resident of Hitchcock since 2005 previously of Jewett, Texas.  She was a homemaker, a member of the Baptist faith and was known to many as a great collector of “what-nots”, trinkets and movies.

Preceded in death by her husband, John Howard Perry; her son, John H. “Bubba” Perry, II and her daughter, Cindy Cravey, survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Janie and James Wilson of Hitchcock, Anna Doherty, Theresa Reyna, Betty and Rodney Cravey, all of Jewett, Texas; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2007, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Pastor John Newton officiating.  Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be her grandsons, C.J. Cravey, Jake Cravey, Carl Perry, Robert Perry, James Wilson, Jr. and John Wilson.

Friends may visit with the family from 5 – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
