Andrea Elysse McKenna passed from this life on Sunday, May 27, 2007.
Andi’s family will receive visitors after 5:00 pm, Wednesday, May 30th, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. A rosary will be held at 6:30, led by Father John Bok, OFM.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am, Thursday, May 31st, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Father John Bok as Celebrant. Burial will follow the service at at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Andi was born on June 15, 1986 in Galveston, Texas. She graduated with honors in 2004 from BallHigh School and was attending TexasA & MUniversity at College Station, where she was the proudest member of the Fighting Texas Aggie Class of 2008. She was studying Special Education and looking forward to receiving her Aggie ring. She was President of the Kappa Theta Beta Catholic Sorority.
Andi was also involved at A&M with Lohman Learners and Project Sunshine.
Andi was blessed to know early in her life that she had the ability to work with people and touch their lives. She spent countless hours and many summers at Camp Discovery and Camp Summit working with children and adults with special needs and physical disabilities. She was able to reach people that no one else could.
Andi’s strong faith was evident by her involvement in organizations such as Island Catholic Youth and Youth Ambassadors to Christ for the Archdiocese of Galveston/Houston.
As a student at Ball High, she was a member of the National Honor Society, the track cross country team, Key Club, Ball High Theatre, and BESTT. She was also founder and past president of the local chapter of Best Buddies, and an officer of NCYC.
Andi leaves behind her loving family: parents John and Andrea (Sissy)McKenna, sister Lauren, brother Johnny, grandparents Dr. and Mrs. John McKenna of Galveston and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cloudy of Orange, Texas.
Also left behind to cherish her memory are her beloved aunts and uncles: Jenny and Keith Forsyth, Melanie and Raymond Parish, Cindy and Shiro Foreman, Charles and Laura Cloudy, Michelle and Michael Roiz, Kathy and Alfred Rodriguez, Mary Ann and Mark Belcher, and Jimmy McKenna;
Andi’s cousins who will miss her greatly are: Cory and Aleena Rambo, Brian Parish, Amanda Parish, Damon Bishop, Natalie Cloudy, Charlie Cloudy, Colleen Cloudy, Matthew Roiz, Megan Roiz, Bryce Rambo, Braxton Rambo, Ava Rambo, Mathew Rodriguez, Laura Rodriguez, Joel and Erin Belcher and Madison Belcher.
Andi had a special place in her heart for the love of her life, Daniel Galbraith. She and Daniel spent many hours “hanging out” with their best buddies: Marissa Borne, Stacia Crocker, Maggie Curtis, and Hannah Wilson.
The family wishes to express their love and thanks to the Galbraith, LeBlanc, and Farmer families, who Andi considered to be family. They were a vital part of her life and instrumental in Andi becoming the unique and wonderful person that she was.
Andi also leaves behind her godchild, Corbin Jones.
She will be missed greatly by her precious puppy, Sadie.
The family wishes to express their many thanks to the Galveston Catholic School family and all who have shown their support and love for Andi and the family.
The pallbearers are Kyle LeBlanc, Eric LeBlanc, Damon Bishop, Brian Parish, Matthew Rodriguez, and Cory Rambo.
