Lyle Flinn, Jr.
Malloy & Son Funeral Home

Edward Lyle Flinn, Jr.Edward Lyle Flinn, Jr., 70, of Galveston, Texas, beloved husband, father, & grandfather, died June 1, 2007 at UTMB.  He was born on March 24, 1937, in San Antonio, Texas.  He attended school at San Jose Mission in San Antonio.  He also attended St. Mary’s University and graduated from the University of Texas, Austin, in 1960, with a BSEE.  Immediately after that he went to work for IBM as a Systems Engineer.

 

Lyle married Paula Brick on August 19, 1961, at St. Patrick’s Church in Galveston, Texas. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, E. Lyle Flinn, Sr. & Mary Clark Flinn, of San Antonio, Texas.

 

He is survived by his wife, Paula M. Flinn; son Edward S. Flinn; daughter Allison Hanzawa; granddaughter Haley Hanzawa; brothers  Frank Flinn (Alice) of St. Louis, MO & Mike Flinn of San Antonio, TX; Uncle Leland Flinn of Houston, Texas; mother-in-law Pauline Brick of Galveston; and many cousins and friends.

 

Lyle was a hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors both when he and his family lived in Sandia Park, New Mexico and Galveston, Texas. 

 

A visitation with the family will be held on Friday, June 8, 2007, at 5pm followed by a Rosary at 6pm at Malloy & Son Funeral Home in Galveston, Texas. 

 

The funeral will be held at Malloy & Son on Saturday, June 9, 2007, at 10am, and burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 7801 Gulf Freeway, Dickinson, Texas.

 

Pall bearers include: Michael Flinn and Barry Flinn, Lyle’s cousins; Adam Pablo Flinn and Mark Flinn, Lyle’s nephews; W. E. “Chick” Collins, Gene Miller, and Larry Highley, Lyle’s Friends.
