 Lester Dennis Lyons, 53, passed away from this life on Saturday, May 26, 2007, at ArrowheadRegionalMedicalCenter in Colton, California.
Lester was born May 3, 1954, in Galveston, Texas to the union of Leamon Lyons, Sr. and Ella Roy Johnson Lyons. He was employed as a mechanic with Fort Irwin Military Base and was a resident of Barstow, CA, to which he moved after devoting twenty plus years of dedicated service to the United States Army.
Lester was preceded in death by his parents; and one niece, Ella Faye Lyons.
He leaves to cherish memories of his life three brothers, Leamon Lyons, Jr., Melvin Lyons of Galveston, TX, William Salters, Jr., Houston, TX; four sisters, Betty Lyons (Dennis), Lora Lyons, Marilyn Lyons (William) all of Galveston, TX, Valerie Everett of Houston, TX; three nephews, Larry Lyons, Sr., Juwan Everette, Julian Everette all of Houston, TX; two nieces, Letricia Lyons, Andria Lyons of Galveston, TX; two great-nieces; five great-nephews; four uncles, Howard Johnson (Martha), Allen Lyons (Gloria) of Hitchcock, TX, Raymond Johnson of Sealy, TX, Leroy Lyons (Gail) of Galveston, TX; five aunts, Helen E. Johnson, Sadie M. Washington (Leonard) of Galveston, TX, Wilda Lyons of Texas City, TX, Doris D. Bolden (Bennie) of Sealy, TX, Anna B. Campbell of Katy, TX; devoted friends, Rodney Gillins, James Jones, Gail Thompson, and Joyce Reed, as well as a host of other family and friends.
Viewing will begin at 4PM on Friday, June 8th, followed by a wake from 7-8PM at E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary. A service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 9, 2007, at the St. JohnBaptistChurch with Pastor Louis Simpson, Jr. officiating. He will be laid to rest in LakeviewCemetery.
