Mrs. Mary May Moran passed from this life Sunday, July 1, 2007, at her home.
Born April 29, 1927 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mrs. Moran had been a resident of Algoa for 7 years, previously of Waxahachie and California. She had been employed as a music teacher in California for many years, had worked for Taylor – Moran Engineering (the family business) and General Dynamics as the payroll accountant, attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, had been a member of A. C. T. S. and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Dickinson. Mary was a woman of many talents; she had been an artist, musician, square dancer and singer with Madrigal Singers at USC while in college, and enjoyed bird watching.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur Moran; parents, William King and Hazel Dot (Staley) Taylor; sister, Patricia Glorifeld.
Survivors include her son, Bill Moran of Colton, CA; daughter, Mary Jean Fields and husband, Mark of Algoa; grandchildren, Tristan Fields, Mary An Fields; brother, William Taylor and wife, Arlene of Arizona.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2007, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Reverend John Kappe, Celebrant. A private cremation will be conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
Vigil services will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2007, in the Chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Sister Mary Anne Hollmann officiating.
Casketbearers will be Israel Auvenne, Gary Carpenter, Robert Gabriel, Chuck Kilgus, Walt Kilgus and Don LeCompte. Honorary bearer will be Alvin Lovelady.
