The Galveston Railroad Museum hosted the ceremony following the Fourth of July Parade.  Kathy Modzelewski arranged for the indoor venue at the request of participants who suffered from the heat at outdoor ceremonies in past years.  Because of the rainfall that increased after the parade, participants were especially grateful.

Joe Huff was master of ceremonies.  Parade Marshal Bill Balleza, a United States Marine veteran of the Viet Nam War, who has participated in Galveston Mardi Gras parades and other events throughout the past several years, said that he was honored to be grand marshal of the Fourth of July Parade.
