Louis “Popeye” Littlefield

Louis "Popeye" LittlefieldLouis “Popeye” Littlefield, 76, passed away from this life on Sunday, July 8, 2007, at U.T.M.B.Hospital.

Louis was born March 2, 1931, to the late Louis and Edna Littlefield in Galveston, Texas.  “Popeye” as he was known by all, was a faithful member of Avenue L Baptist Church. He attended public school in Galveston, and was a Merchant Seaman for 35 years until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Hattie LeBlanc Littlefield; sisters, Loretta Littlefield, Myrtle James, Venora Rahaman, Erma Littlefield, and Dorothy Murry. 

He leaves to cherish the memories of his life, two daughters, Sheila Dean (Eric) of  LaMarque, TX, Edna Littlefield of Texas City, TX ; brother, Reverend C.L. Littlefield (Lorraine) of  San Antonio, TX ; Stepson, Paul Golbert of Port Arthur, TX; two grandsons, Keddrick Simpson (Kim), Quentin Dean of LaMarque, TX; two granddaughters, Daykeshia and Tamekia Caligone of LaMarque, TX; several nieces, great nieces, and nephews; Godson, Melvin Valentine, Jr. of Austin, TX; Goddaughter, Valerie Valentine of Sugarland, TX; devoted niece, Sharon Barriere of Galveston, TX; son in law, Benjmain; devoted friends, “Bop”, Leroy Reese (Savannah), Emily Shannon, Elenora Banks and the Avenue L Baptist Church Family.  Special thanks to his caregiver Linda Love. 

Viewing will begin at 4 P.M. Friday, July 13th, followed by a wake from 7-8 P.M. at E.R. Johnson Family Mortuary. A service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 14, 2007, at Avenue L Baptist Church with Minister Don Henderson officiating.  Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
