Mrs. Oden departed this life on Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on October 16, 1923 in Oxford, Louisiana.

Mrs.Oden was preceded in death by her husband and parents.  She is survived by her daughter, Earnestine Jackson and her grandchildren, Marshall, Cheronda, Marvin and her great-grandchildren, Andre and Abrien ; her sisters, Florence Jackson (Rudolph) of California; Mary J. Phillips of Galveston; Shirley Darden  (Linnie Sr.) of Georgia; Dianna and Johnny of LaMarque; two devoted nephews, Charles Washington, Jr. (Sue) ;Ruben Washington of California and a host of other relatives and friends.

Prior to the graveside service, viewing will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Wynn Funeral Home, 602-32nd Street in Galveston.  The graveside service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 21 at LakeviewCemetery in Galveston.  Reverend Lennie L. Darden Sr. will officiate.
