Giovannina Arcidiacono, 47, of Galveston, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2007, at Gulf Health Care Center.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am, Monday, July 23rd, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Niall Nolan as Celebrant. Burial will follow the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors after 5:00 pm, Sunday, July 22nd, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A vigil service will be held at 6:30 pm.
Giovannina was born May 30, 1960, in Galveston, Texas and was a lifelong resident of the island. She worked at Fisherman’s Wharf for 18 years and was a member of Sacred Heart Church.
She is survived by her parents, Guiseppe and Elena Arcidiacono; sister, Lena Sifuentes and husband, Jesse; nephews, Josef Aaron Sifuentes and Jesse David Sifuentes; uncles and aunts: Bartolo and Guiseppe Palumbo and family of Sicily; Sam and Tina Arcidiacono; Alfio and Josephine Arcidiacono; and Josephine Arcidiacono; and numerous cousins.
Pallbearers will be Sam Arcidiacono, Nunzio Arcidiacono, Joe Patane, Gilbert Sifuentes, and David Sifuentes. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Sifuentes Jr., Josef Sifuentes, and Jesse Sifuentes, III.
Giovannina’s family wishes to extend special thanks to special family friends, Sarina Negrini and Theresa Reynes, the staff of Gulf Coast Health Center, Eva Cavazos and the staff at A-Med Hospice, as well as the staff at Fisherman’s Wharf for their care and concern for Giovannina during her many years of service.
