Dr. Louis Fox, 86, devoted son, brother, uncle and friend passed away in Dallas on August 15, 2007 after a long and vibrant life.
Born November 11, 1920 in Fort Worth, Texas, Louis graduated from Paschall High School where he was active in ROTC. Louis attended LSU and was head commander of the ROTC squadron. After graduating LSU, Louis attended Loyola School of Dentistry in New Orleans and developed a love for his profession that lasted until his retirement. Louis was in general dentistry private practice in Baton Rouge and served as personal dentist for Huey Long during his years in office as governor. Louis had a witty sense of humor and a kind heart that endeared him to friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Ruth Fox, sisters Annette Rosenthal and Frances Klein.
He is survived by nieces and nephews Shirley Davidoff, Norton Rosenthal, Beverly Cohn all of Dallas and Betsy Batwin, of Florida. Also loved by good friends Dale Powers, Tony DeMarco, Dr. Ross DeNicola and Bob Ross.
Special thank you to Louis’ devoted caregivers for 4 ½ years when he moved to Dallas, Susan Hedrick, Trish Scarborough, Linda Pond and Pat Smith.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 17, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at Beth Jacob Cemetery, Galveston, Texas, with Rabbi James Kessler officiating.
Donations may be made to Captial Area Animal Welfare Society, Baton Rouge, LA., or to a charity of one’s choice.
