Joseph MuscatJoseph Muscat, 84, of Galveston, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2007, at UTMB Hospital.


The family will receive visitors after 5:00 pm, Thursday, August 23rd, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  A vigil service will be held at 6:30 pm, led by Father Niall Nolan.


Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am, Friday, August 24th, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Niall Nolan as Celebrant.  Burial will follow the service at Grace Memorial Park.


Joe was born July 18, 1923, on the island of Malta.  He came to the US in 1947 and worked for Demack & Co. until he retired in 1988.  Joe was a member of Knights of Columbus #787 and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.


Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Francesca Muscat, and sisters, Carmela and Giovanna.


He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sydonia Muscat; daughter, Patricia, of Houston; and cousins, Angel Spiteri, Frida Farrugia, Rita Chetcuti, Stella, and their families of Malta, and other relatives in the Galveston area.


Pallbearers will be nephews, Earl Gene Ricicar, Jimmy Ricicar, and Dennis Ricicar; Jeff Boyle, Jack Alexander Demack, and Joe Cappadona.


Honorary pallbearers will be nephew, Jack Broz, Joe Doherty, Cecil Kahla, and Al Fichera.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Cathedral Restoration Fund, or to the charity of your choice.
