Harvey “Buck” Dieringer, Sr.

Harvey "Buck" Dieringer, Sr.Mr. Harvey “Buck” Dieringer, Sr. passed from this life Thursday afternoon, August 30, 2007, at his residence.

Born Christmas Eve of 1934 in Orange Grove, Texas, Buck had been a longtime resident of Hitchcock.  He had worked as a mechanic at Amoco for 29 ½ years, was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hitchcock and enjoyed golfing, gardening and spending time with his golden retriever, Duke, but his love and devotion to his family was his first priority.

Preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Anna Dieringer and his sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Frank Harriman, survivors include his wife of over 52 years, Mary Beth Dieringer; daughters and sons-in-law, Debra Lynne Dieringer of Hitchcock, Joanna and Keith Saunders of Poolville, Patricia “Cissy” and Steven Callaway, League City; son, Harvey James “Buck” Dieringer, Jr., and his wife, Debra of Alvin; brother, John Dieringer and his wife, Mary Ellen; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Ed Carr and Joyce and Charles Anderson, all of Hitchcock; grandchildren, Rachel and David Hensley, Jason and Jessica Kelley, Stephen Wilkinson, Savanna and Andrew Chadwick, Jessica Wilkinson, Kyle Saunders, Jerrod Dieringer, Jennette Saunders, Kyle Callaway, Stephanie Callaway; great-grandchildren, Marcus, Alyssia, Tristan, Tynan, Sean, Morgan and Joshua.

Local funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 2, 2007, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, Dr. Michael Deaton officiating.  Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501. 

Additional funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Thiele and Cooper Funeral Home in Yoakum, Texas followed by interment in Pilot Grove Cemetery.  

Casket bearers will be Buck Dieringer, Jr., Steve Callaway, Jerrod Dieringer, Marcus Dieringer, Jason Kelley, Keith Saunders, Kyle Saunders and Stephen Wilkinson.

Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to the American Leukemia Society, 5005 Mitchelldale, Suite 115, Houston, TX 77092. .
