Frances Sendejas

Frances SendejasFrances Sendejas, 63, passed from this life September 17, 2007. She was born January 20, 1944. She grew up in Galveston and attended its public schools before marrying and moving to Houston to raise her family.  She worked for National Biscuit Company more than 25 years and retired from Nabisco when its Houston bakery closed in 1999.
 
Mrs. Sendejas was a founding member of St. Mark the Evangelist Church in Houston. Upon her return to Galveston following her retirement, she became a parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
 
Frances was instilled with a strong work ethic. She used her career to more fully pursue her passions, which included family excursions to Lake Tahoe, annual trips to Fiesta San Antonio, Mardi Gras and Christmas gatherings at her Galveston home and social celebrations with her extended family. She loved music, home décor, I Love Lucy reruns, Houston Texans football and her canine companion, Noche.
 
Known as a strong and giving person, Frances enjoyed community service and was a volunteer with Houston Hospice. She reserved many of her special gifts for her large and loving family.
 
Mrs. Sendejas is preceded in death by her parents, Dolores and John Garcia, as well as her husband of 42 years, Jesse. She leaves behind to cherish her memory three sons, Jesse Jr., Anthony and Adrian; daughters-in-law, Tisha and Tish; and four grandchildren, Allison, Jesse Edward, Marissa and Isaiah. She is survived by 11 siblings, Dolores Pena, John Garcia, Sara Harr, Joe Garcia, Raymond Garcia, Jesse Garcia, Roy Garcia, Robert Garcia, David Garcia, Diana Torres and Ralph Garcia, and their respective spouses and children. She is also survived by her in-laws, Tony and Lupe Sendejas, Richard, Tony and Rudy Sendejas and Francis Samudio, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
 
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be held at 6:00 P.M.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 21, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Father John Bok officiating.
 
Pallbearers will be Jesse Sendejas, Anthony Sendejas, Adrian Sendejas, Roy Garcia, Ray Garcia and Joe Garcia.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Garcia, Ralph Garcia, John Garcia, David Garcia and Robert Garcia.
