Lillian Dennis Elzia
E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary

Lillian Dennis EliziaLillian Dennis Elzia, 78, received her reward of eternal rest on Saturday, September 15, 2007, at Mainland Medical Center.

Lillian was born on October 27, 1928, in New Iberia, LA to the union of Willie, Sr. and Isabella Hill Dennis. She was retired from Texas A&M University in Galveston. She also was a member of the Progressive Baptist Church in Galveston until her health failed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; children, Marian Guy and Curley “Chip” Williams; brothers, Steven, Henry, and Melvin Dennis; sisters, Martha Dennis and Gussie Hudson; grandson, Raymond Sam and Joe Williams.

She is survived by her husband, Willard “Jeffery” Elzia; daughters, Clara Kimbrough (Leroy); Kinshara “Peaches” Guy (Harry Megale); stepchildren, Mary Tibedeau; Roy Lee Lane and Pamela Mason James (Harry); 20 grandchildren;15 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; grandsons whom she raised, Cliff and Master Sgt. Robert D. Guy; her sibling, James Dennis, Willie Dennis, Jr.; Cleveland Dennis (Samantha); Lillie Alexander (Warren) and Rosa Caraway (Robert); devoted provider, Debra Johnson; host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Viewing will begin at 4p.m. on Friday, September 21st, followed by a wake from 7-8p.m. at E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary. Homegoing service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2007, at the Progressive Baptist Church in Galveston with Pastor W. E. Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery
