Mabel Pearl Proctor DoslichMabel Pearl Proctor Doslich, age 81 of Galveston passed away while surrounded by her devoted family, Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at her residence in Galveston.  Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Friday, September 21, 2007 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Grayson Glass officiating. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm.

Mabel was born February 4, 1926 in Wallis, Texas to John Proctor and Hattie Duchek Proctor .She graduated from the Wallis School System and Wharton Nursing School before moving to Galveston where she and her husband chose to reside their entire life. She was a constant caregiver whether helping out at home or in the local schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Galveston and later in life enjoyed socializing with the Wal-Mart Senior Breakfast Club.

Preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John Doslich, Sr., sisters, Rosie Proctor and, Lexi Stade and husband Ed and brothers, Frankie Proctor, Luke Grigar and wife Marie, and Sam Grigar and wife Tootsie; Mabel is survived by her children, Brenda Higgins, Diane Doslich, John Doslich and wife Beth; grandchildren, John Bernius and wife Nicole, Amanda, Kristin, Amy, and Heather Doslich; great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Zachary Bernius; sister, Johnnie Woehst and husband Oren, and; brother, Robert Proctor and wife Dot; dearest friends, David and Marie Etzel; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are David Etzel, Mike Woehst, Robert Proctor, John Bernius, Amanda Doslich, Kristin Doslich, Amy Doslich, Heather Doslich, Al Kyle.

Memorials may be sent to American Cancer Society.
