SANTA FE - Mrs. Mary Belle Skillman passed from this life Monday, October 1, 2007, in Texas City.
Born March 30, 1922 in Concho, Mrs. Skillman had been a lifelong resident of Santa Fe and Galveston County. She had been employed at UTMB as a nursing supervisor for many years and was of the Baptist faith.
The widow of the late Arthur "Peck" Skillman who died in 1971, she was also preceded in death by her parents, Frank D. and Flossie Belle (Cape) Travis and brother, Henry Travis.
Survivors include her daughter, June Wyatt of Alvin; sons, Al Skillman and wife, Pat, Lynn Skillman and David Skillman, all of Santa Fe; 7 Grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00

8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2007, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with a service of remembrance beginning at 7:00 p.m. conducted by Dr. Bobby Tollison.She will be greatly missed by her friends and family, who miss her now and forever. Her sun sets for the last time but will forever shine in all our hearts.
