Lucy Mae ScurryGALVESTON- Lucy Mae Scurry, 84, received her reward of eternal rest on Sunday, September 30, 2007, at her daughters’ residence in Houston, TX.

Lucy was born on October 26, 1922, in Burleson County, TX to James, Sr. and Lenora Moore Khrone. She was a longtime resident of Galveston and was retired from St. Mary's Hospital after serving in the central supply department for many years. She also worked in the home health care field and enjoyed fishing. She joined the 55th Street Church of Christ at an early age and remained a faithful member until her health failed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest Scurry, Sr.; daughter, Shirley Y. Saxton; son, Woodrow Roberts; brothers, Wallace and James Khrone; sisters, Beatrice Khrone, and Pauline Finley; grandchildren, Keith Duncan, and Kenneth Saxton, Sr.

She leaves her life legacy to live on the hearts of a devoted daughter, Dorothy Roberts of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Gwendolyn Davis (Michael); Dwayne Davis (Rita); Troy Duncan, Sr,; Marvin Roberts (Tammy); Cheryl Armstead; Veronica Lawrence (Jimmy); Betty Sallie (Emory); Michael Roberts; Kim Saxton; Percy Saxton, Jr. and Hallie Roberts; 25 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; brother, Claborne Khrone; sister, Clemmie T. King (Willie); sons in law, Percy Saxton, Sr.; devoted friend, Rosie Fields; godchildren, Earline Peron (Marion), and Thomas Sauceda, Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2007, at the 55th Street Church of Christ beginning at 11a.m. followed a service celebrating her life at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Roy Osband officiating. She will be laid to rest in Lakeview Cemetery
