Edward Lee Beasley
E.R. Johnson Family Mortuary

GALVESTON- Edward Lee Beasley, 79, received his reward of eternal rest on Friday, October 5, 2007, at his residence.

Edward was born August 31, 1928, in Gilmer, Texas to Tom and Finette Henderson Beasley. He attended school in the Gilmer area and later enrolled into Bishop College of Tyler, Texas, where he received his Bachelors’ degree. He began his teaching career in the Gilmer school district, and later with the Warren and Dever school districts. He also served as security with the Gulf Breeze Housing complex. He was a former member of the Lake Providence Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher, and was a member of the Live Oak Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Grace Finch.

He leaves with cherished memories, wife, Lucinda Beasley of Galveston; sons, Charles Beasley; Rodney Beasley; Harold Beasley; Edward Beasley, Jr.; John and Derrick Senegal; daughters, Bettie Beasley; Rena Smith; Finnettia Garner; Julie Gregory; Sheryl Brooks; Virenetta Yvin, and Idelle Senegal; host of grandchildren; brothers, Curtis Beasley, and Lee Beasley; sisters, Roberta Beasley; Alice Fay Smith, and Allene Jacobs; and a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Viewing will began at 4PM on Friday, October 12th followed by a wake from 7-8 PM at E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary. A service celebrating his life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 13, 2007, at the Live Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Norris D. Burkley, officiating.

He will be laid to rest in Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.
