Cleotilde (Jacques) MontoyaMrs. Cleotilde (Jacques) Montoya passed from this life Tuesday evening, October 30, 2007, in Houston.

Born July 24, 1927 in Alvin, TX, Mrs. Montoya had been a resident of Houston for most of her life, previously of California and Galveston.  She had been employed as an operating room technician at USC Medical Center (formerly L. A. County General Hospital) for 20 years and had been an active member of numerous Baptist churches throughout her life.  She enjoyed attending church and listening to music.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arturo L. Montoya; son, Victor Albert Montoya; parents, Mariano and Eloisa (Tijerina) Jacques; brother, Mariano Jacques and sister, Christine Maldonado.

Survivors include her sons, Arturo Jacques Montoya of Humble, Luis Montoya and wife, Norma of Katy; daughters, Olga Valencia and husband, Jesse of Houston, Alicia Smith and husband, David of Humble, Christina Montoya of Fresno, CA; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Alfred Jacques and wife, Lucy of Irvine, CA; sister, Carmen Garcia and husband, Guillermo of Portland, OR.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2007, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Angel officiating.

Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock.

Casketbearers will be Matthew Montoya, Michael Montoya, Justin Smith, Steven Smith, Jesse Valencia, Jr. and Anthony Vega.
