Joe T. Wells, Jr.
Hayes Funeral Home

Joe T. Wells, Jr.Mr. Joe T. Wells, Jr. passed from this life Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at his home.
 
Born August 19, 1924 in Georgia, TX, Mr. Wells had been a resident of Santa Fe for 24 years, previously of La Marque for 36 years and Georgia, TX.  He had been employed as an electrician for Carbide where he retired after 35 years of service, served in the US Army Air Corps, was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, IBEW Local #520, Knights of Columbus in La Marque and enjoyed spending time fishing, carpentry (making furniture) and working on cars. 
 
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia (Parker) Wells; son, Tony Wells and parents, Joe T. Wells, Sr. and Minnie Lee.
 
Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 23 years, Mary Wells; sons, Jody Bellamy and wife, Shanna of Friendswood, Pat Wells and wife, Sherry of Texas City, Randy Whittington and wife, Pat of Lufkin; daughter, Shirley Bonds and husband, Larry of Santa Fe; daughter-in-law, Carol Wells of Dallas; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
 
Vigil services will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2007, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Sister Willie Mae Maniscalco officiating.  A private cremation and interment will be conducted under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
 
Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, (409) 925-3501.
 
Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to Vitas Hospice, 4848 Loop Central Dr., Ste. 650, Houston, TX 77081.
