Charles “Sonny” Johnson

 Charles “Sonny” Johnson, 62, departed this life on Saturday, November 17, 2007, at U.T.M.B. Hospital in Galveston, Texas.
Charles was born February 15, 1945, to the union of Carey and Lillie Thomas Johnson in Bienville, LA. “Sonny” as he was affectionately called, graduated from Shady Grove High School in Saline, LA. He retired after 30 years of service in the Cytopathology and Material Management departments of U.T.M.B. Hospital, and was presently employed as a Door greeter at Wal-Mart of Galveston for ten years.
Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his parents, and one sister.
He leaves with cherished memories of his life, a loving and devoted wife, Virgie M. Johnson; devoted daughter, Felicia Johnson-Marcel (Troy); grandchildren, Allyson Johnson, Sherman Johnson, Jr., Kevin Times, Jr.; great grandchildren, Taiyah Callis, and Jhaiyah Johnson all of Galveston; sisters, Ida Lewis; Naomi Melton, and Callie McIntosh; brother-in-law, Percy Lewis; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2007, followed by a service celebrating his life at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of E.R. Johnson Family Mortuary, with Rev. Robbie Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
