Verdell Taylor-WilliamsMrs. Verdell Taylor-Williams, 72, received her reward of eternal rest, Friday, November 23, 2007, at Bay Oaks Health Care Center in Texas City.

Verdell was born May 12, 1935, to the union of M.C. and Myrtle Smith Taylor, in Brenham, Texas.  She was employed with the Johnson Space Center until her retirement in 1996.

Verdell was preceded in death by her parents, son, Phillip, and grandchild Erica.

She leaves to cherish the loving memories of her life; brother, Derrick Fisher; sons, Edward Charles Taylor (Elizabeth) of Independence, TX, Raymond Carter (Brenda) of Brenham, TX, Ronnie Carter (Laura) of Somerville, TX; daughters, Brenda Willis (Dennis), Vickie Edwards, Sharon Carter (Charlie), all of LaMarque, TX; stepsons, Robert Carter of Lake Arthur, LA, Roger B. Carter of Missouri City, TX; aunts, Faye Cooper of Dickinson, TX, Evelyn Smith of Texas City, TX, Nancy J. Smith, Earnest Smith both of Brenham, TX; (26) grandchildren, (28) great-grandchildren; god children, Robert Armstrong of Hitchcock, TX, Michelle Williams of LaMarque, TX; best friend whom she loved like a sister, Jeralyn Smith; devoted friends, Nadine Robertson, Alma Lowe, Renee’ Guidry, Jimmy Goff; a very special friend, Johnny Terry; special thanks to Regency Hospice, Georgette, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will begin at 1PM on Saturday, December 1, 2007, in the chapel of E.R. Johnson Family Mortuary, followed by a service celebrating her life at 2:00 P.M., with Pastor W.W. Jackson officiating.
