“Saint Nicholas” Project Receives Generous Gift for Bay Area Children
Houston, TX – Volunteer Houston Bay Area today announced the receipt of a generous gift made to its’ annual benefit “A Visit From Saint Nicholas.” The financial donation was made by Crowder Funeral Home of Houston/Clear Lake.
Supporting Houston and Bay Area youth for 20 years, “A Visit From Saint Nicholas” is a charitable project that provides a gift of a backpack filled with books and toys to disadvantaged children. Over 2,200 students attending pre-kindergarten through 3rd grade at McWhirter Elementary in Webster, Calvin-Vincent Head Start in Texas City, K.E. Little Elementary in Bacliff, La Porte Elementary, South Houston Elementary, as well as Kruse and L.F. Smith elementary schools in Pasadena will enjoy gifts left by “A Visit From Saint Nicholas.”
“A Visit From Saint Nicholas” is coordinated by Volunteer Houston and a committee of volunteers, and is generously sponsored by local businesses and individual donors. The annual benefit takes place on December 6 – the traditional date that Saint Nicholas is celebrated around the world.
