DON'T MISS THE 11TH ANNUAL GALVESTON HARBOR PARADE OF LIGHTS ON DECEMBER 15 WITH FREE ENTERTAINMENT FOR SPECTATORS

Don't Miss The Boats!

The Historic Downtown Galveston Partnership's Galveston Harbor Parade of Lights is moving to Saturday, December 15th this year. Experience Galveston Island's traditional harbor parade, a dazzling display of boats of all sizes dressed from stem to stern with glittering lights and twinkling decorations!! Boats from all over the bay area will be participating in this year's parade. And in the spirit of the holidays, the evening's entertainment is free for spectators! New this year are Masters of Ceremonies, Chiquita Taylor and Eddie Harper of http://www.wiredin.cc/; featuring Talk of the Bay, a webcast focusing on all of the fun, food and frolic happening in the Bay Area.

Come Early!

You'll want to arrive early for Santa By The Sea, the Lone Star Flight Museum Fly Over and other entertainment starting at 4 P.M. that will keep everyone in a festive mood until the boat parade starts at 6 P.M.

This parade of floating holiday decorations, will start at the Galveston Yacht Basin and continue west through the Port of Galveston, past the free public viewing area at Pier 21. For a peak at last year's parade visit Talk of the Bay at http://www.wiredin.cc/.

Shop, Shop, Shop!

The Historic Downtown Galveston Partnership is pleased to continue the upcoming holiday shopping season in true nautical fashion. Many merchants in the downtown area will be offering substantial holiday discounts; so come for a day of shopping, an evening of fun or spend the weekend in downtown Galveston's historic Strand district. You will leave with a smile on your face, a few names crossed off your Christmas list, warm family memories and a lot of holiday spirit.

Party Island Style!

After the parade, head downtown for more fun! Downtown Galveston has it
all: from casual to fine dining, coffee shops, bars, clubs, live music, live theatre, shopping and more... all just steps away from Pier 21.

Join the Parade!

Parade contest winners will receive cash prizes along with coveted bragging rights. Contest categories include, three (3) places for Best Lighted Vessel, Best Island Attitude, the Most Interesting Story of How Your Vessel was Named, plus many others. Each award category may have multiple place winners, so everyone stands a good chance of going home with a prize. Free dockage and transportation to and from the Strand will also be available for parade participants. 4:00 pm Santa By The Sea Come early to the Pier 21 parade viewing area for a special visit with Santa Claus.

5:00 pm Lone Star Flight Museum Fly Over Watch the skies as vintage aircraft from the museum rumble over the Harbor Parade viewing area at Pier 21.

6:00 pm Galveston Harbor Parade of Lights An old maritime tradition, this year's Harbor Parade will feature everything from multi-million dollar yachts to vintage shrimp boats, decorated from stem to stern with glittering lights and twinkling decorations!
