J.H. “Scotty” Schoen

J. H. "Scotty" SchoenMr. J. H. “Scotty” Schoen passed from this life Sunday afternoon, December 9, 2007, in Pasadena.

Born August 21, 1935 in Rayville, LA, Mr. Schoen had been a resident of Pasadena for 10 years, previously of Hitchcock.  He had been an aircraft electrician with the United States Air Force for 20 years and retired as a Tech Sergeant after four tours of duty in Vietnam.  Mr. Schoen was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Armstrong, IL and was a quiet man who enjoyed his solitude.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fritz B and Fannie Lavell (Roswell Schoen; brother, Elton Glen Schoen and brother-in-law, Raymond A. Stefka.

Survivors include his sons, Michael Schoen Ray, Marion Schoen Ray; daughter Karna Schoen Ray, all of Martinsville, IN; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Marguerite “Reke” Stefka of Hitchcock; brother and sister-in-law, Billy Joe Schoen, Sr. and wife, Barbara of Hitchcock; sister-in-law, Barbara Schoen of Alvin; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2007, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home with Chaplain Chad Hawkins officiating.

Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors under the auspices of the U.S. Air Force.

Casketbearers will be Margie Bajaraszewski, Marie Lowrey, Billy Schoen, Jr., Bryan Schoen, James Schoen and Jason Schoen.
