Friendswood City Council on Monday voted 5-2, with Chris Peden and John LeCour opposed, to approve an employment contract for Les McMahen as the city's new community development director.

The city council unanimously approved the second and final reading of an ordinance adopting the revised FEMA Flood Insurance Study for Harris County.

The city council voted unanimously to approve an interlocal agreement with the City of Baytown for regional storm water training for developers and contractors.

All other agenda items were approved with unanimous votes.

James Toney presented a check for $9,200, which was raised by the Holiday Hustle 5K Fun Run/Walk, to the Laura Recovery Foundation.
