Gladys Ann Schetat, 90, of Texas City, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2007, among friends and family at her son’s home.
The family will receive visitors after 5:00 pm, Wednesday, January 2nd, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 7:00 pm.
Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Thursday, January 3rd, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home with Father Tom Ponzini officiating. Burial will follow the service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Gladys is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar R. Schetat, Sr.; sisters, Mildred Becker and husband, Frederick; Helen Devantier and husband, George; Idella Tinkle and husband, Burnice; and Myrtle Zaeske and husband, Oscar; brothers, Thomas Buckley and wife, Mary; and Joe Buckley.
She is survived by her son, Oscar R. Schetat, Jr.; a wonderful daughter-in-law, Nancy Schetat, of Texas City; grandson, David Schetat, Jr. and wife, Shelley, of Belton, Texas; granddaughter, Catherine Boudoin and husband, Douglas, of Texas City; four great grandsons: David Jr., Micheal, and Brian Schetat, of Belton, TX; and Christopher Boudoin, of Texas City; sister-in-law, Helen Buckley; special nieces and nephews that Gladys loved dearly: Barbara Douglas, Gladys Falk, Vida Hughes, and Betty Arolfo; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Julius Falk, Randy Douglas, Dan William Bankston, Shawn Buckley, Calvin Buckley, and Douglas Burrow, Jr.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff and nurses of AMED Hospice and to Dr. Hemalatha Iyer for their compassionate care.
