John (Jack) McManamon
J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home

John (Jack) McManamonJohn (Jack) McManamon, 83, passed from this life on December 18, 2007.

In our hearts, Jack was reunited with Lucille, his wife of 63 years.  Jack was born of Irish immigrant parents on September 11, 1924 in Guelph, Ontario. Soon after, his parents immigrated to Detroit, Michigan and all became U.S. citizens in 1933. He married his childhood sweetheart and shortly after, World War II took him to the Philipines, where he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Eloise Psychiatric Hospital in Wayne County Michigan after 25 years.  Jack was an avid sports enthusiast and loved military movies and golfing. Golf and sunshine contributed to his move to Texas in 1979. He lived, worked and played at Columbia Lakes Country Club in West Columbia, Texas for 17 years and retired again. In 1996, he and Lucille moved to Galveston.

He is best remembered for his “selfless” dedication to his family. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Linda Turner and husband Gayle; sons Michael McManamon and wife Christina, Patrick McManamon and David McManamon and wife Meleah; sister Mary Wiltsie and husband Bob; brother Peter and wife Mary Ellen; seven grandchildren; and eight and one-half great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 4, 2008 at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M., with Father Bill Bartniski officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Interment will be privately held in West Columbia, Texas.
