Peter Hernandez, 75, of Galveston, Texas, passed away, Wednesday, January 2, 2008. The family will receive visitors on Friday, January 4, 2008 after 5:00 pm at Carnes Brothers Funeral home with a rosary to be held at 7:00 pm.
Funeral mass will be held Saturday, January 5, 2000 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church. Entombment will follow the services at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Peter Hernandez was born in Galveston, Texas, May 16, 1932. He was a graduate of Kirwin High School in 1951. Employed by Strachan Shipping, where he was a Pay Master, Falstaff Brewery, Galveston Ship Building, where he was Yard Foreman, and retired from Aramco Blinds.
Preceded in death by his parents, Eulalio and Maria Hernandez, Peter is survived by his wife of 54 years, Aurelia Hernandez, and his five children, Glenda Saenz and spouse Luis of Texas City, Rose Herrera and spouse Samuel of Galveston, Michael Hernandez and spouse, Rhea of League City, Denise Nelson and spouse, Billy of Galveston and Peter John Hernandez and spouse, Stephanie of Texas City. Grandchildren, Shawn and Monica Herrera, Ashley and William Nelson, Marisa and Andres Saenz, Lauren and Karl Hernandez, and Wyatt Hernandez. Great Grandchildren, Antonio, Stephen, Jessica and Noah Herrera.
Pallbearers will be Luis and Andres Saenz, Samuel and Shawn Herrera and Billy and William Nelson.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff and nurses of AMED Hospice.
