Jane Elizabeth Leatherwood  Pinte Our beloved Mother and Grandmother Jane Elizabeth Leatherwood  Pinte age 92 of Galveston went to be with her Lord, Sunday, January 13, 2008 at Turner Geriatric Center in Galveston. Funeral services will be 10:00am Friday, January 18, 2008, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Galveston with the Reverend Ronald Pouge officiating. Burial will follow at Oleander Cemetery in Galveston, under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home, 1201 Tremont Street, Galveston, Texas. The family will receive guests for visitation from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Jane was born March 28, 1915 in Galveston, Texas to Harry and Ella McKeithen Abbott and resided in Galveston her entire life. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Lewis Leatherwood, Sr. on August 10, 1952; husband Frank Pinte on September 12, 2006, sisters Blanche Stegall, Ellen Davis, Laura Morrissey, Lois Keene and brothers, Harry, Tom, Charles, Jimmy, Edgar, and Edwin Abbott.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Betty Jane Morris and husband Bill of Galveston; son, Thomas Lewis Leatherwood, Jr. of Galveston; grandchildren, Jennie Morris LaRue and husband Tom of Galveston, William A. Morris, II of League City, Thomas Lewis Leatherwood, III of Los Angeles, California,  Julie Erin Payne and husband Nick of Euless, Texas , great granddaughters, Gabrielle Lysette LaRue and Clair Jordan Payne, sisters, Elizabeth Collier, Lillian Allison, brother, Villaret Abbott and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

A lady of Grace and Style, our “Mimi” was one of a kind, possessing a wonderful sense of humor and generosity that knew no bounds. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister whose life focus was her family.

Pallbearers are Billy Morris, II, Bill Morris, Sr., Thomas Leatherwood, III, Tom LaRue, Ronald Holloway and Blake Holloway.

The family request memorials to be sent to Trinity Episcopal Church or a charity of your choice.
