In Remembrance
Isaac Thompson
E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary
Isaac Thompson, 89 received his reward of eternal rest on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at the Edgewater Retirement Center in Galveston. His faithful saying from scripture was: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me-the crown of righteousness that the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that great day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to His glorious return.” (II Timothy 4:7-8)
A service celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at the West Point Baptist Church with Pastor Kerry W. Tillmon, officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. He will lie in state beginning at 10AM on Tuesday prior to the service. There will be no wake or visitation.
Mr. Thompson was born in Montgomery County to Jim and Mary Ann Phillips Thompson. He later became a resident of Galveston, where he worked as a longshoreman. He was a faithful member of West Point Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
