Carnes Brothers Funeral Home

Stella Mae ThomasStella Mae Thomas, age 81, of Galveston passed away, Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at her residence in Galveston. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, January 25, 2008 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Galveston. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Stella was born August 16, 1926 in Beaumont, Texas to Henry and Corine Hudson James. She was a retired housekeeper with Edgewater Retirement. She enjoyed riding horses on the beach, reading scripture and praying with her family. She loved to watch westerns on television and remember how things used to be. She was a lady of faith and a member of St. Raymond Spiritual Church.

Survivors include daughter, Willie Mae Thomas; sons, Henry Thomas, Charles Thomas and wife Brenda, Leonard Thomas, Richard Thomas and wife Molly all of Galveston and Johnny Thomas of Houston; 5 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
