Doris C. Nordin Mrs. Doris C. Nordin passed from this life Friday evening, January 25, 2008, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Born September 7, 1927 in Shreveport, LA, Mrs. Nordin had been a longtime
resident of Santa Fe.  She had worked as a secretary at the UTMB Bookstore for many years, in addition to working at Stanton’s and Wellborn’s in Alvin. She was the president of the Santa Fe PTA in the late 1960s and attended Santa Fe First Baptist Church. Mrs. Nordin enjoyed reading, fishing and was especially devoted to her children and grandchildren, always making it a priority to attend all the events they were involved in.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Clyde W. Nordin; sons, Gerald W. Nordin and wife, Mary of Santa Fe, Bobby L. Nordin and wife Mimi of Keller, TX; daughter, Janette Moers and husband, George of Santa Fe; sister, Claudine Goulding of Pearland; brother, Thomas Blume and wife, Dorothy of Winfield, LA; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2008, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, Pastor Larry Jones officiating.

Entombment will follow at Grace Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Casketbearers will be Ryan Day, Michael Herrera, Nathan Jones, Christopher Nordin, Darren Nordin, Gregory Nordin and Joshua Nordin.

Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock (409) 925-3501.

Those who wish may make memorials in the form of donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, 6161 Savoy, Houston, Texas 77036.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amed Hospice, especially to Setha, Mary and Toni for the special love and care they gave to Mrs. Nordin.
