Deborah Wheat Gage “Deb”
E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary

Deborah Wheat Gage “Deb”Deborah Wheat Gage, 55, received her reward of eternal rest on Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at the Methodist Select Specialty Hospital of Houston.

Deborah was born on March 5, 1952, in Houston, TX to George David, Wheat, Jr. and Dilcy Sue Sanders Wheat. She attended public school in Houston and was a graduate of Evan E. Worthing Senior High School. She furthered her education by receiving her Associate of Art degree from Galveston College and her Bachelors of Art degree in Accounting from University of Houston Clear Lake. Deborah was retired from the U. S. Postal Service. She was a member of the St. Luke Baptist Church where she served as church clerk, a youth supervisor, on the Finance committee, Hospitality committee and with the Pastor's Aide and Helping Hand ministry.

She was preceded in death by her father; sister, Thelma Wheat, and aunt, Virginia Mitchell.
 
She leaves with cherish memories, son, Richard Gage III; daughter, Rhonda Gage; mother, Dilcy S. Wheat all of Houston; brothers, Rev. Charles E. Wheat (Lillie) of Galveston; George David Wheat III (Joyce) and James C. Wheat; sisters, Katherine Yvonne Haynes all of Houston; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held from 3-5PM on today January 30th at E R Johnson Family Mortuary with a wake service from 7-9PM at the St. Luke Baptist Church (13th & Ave. L).
 
A service celebrating her life will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 31, 2008, also at the St. Luke church with Rev. Kerry W. Tillmon officiating and her brother Rev. Charles E. Wheat, Eulogist. She will be laid to rest at Houston Memorial Garden Cemetery in Houston, TX.
