Cable “Catfish” Joseph, Jr.

Cable “Catfish” Joseph, Jr.Cable “Catfish” Joseph, Jr., 65, departed this life after a brief illness, on Friday, January 25, 2008, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Cable was born October 11, 1942, in Beaumont, TX to Cable, Sr., and Lillian Jackson Joseph. He attended public school in Beaumont and was a 1963 graduate of Hebert High School. He later moved to Galveston where he began his employment with Todd Shipyard as a painter and sandblaster and remained there until his retirement. Cable loved listening to his music, fishing as relaxation and cooking for family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Claude Joseph.

He leaves with cherish memories, a devoted wife of 42 years, Selena Joseph of LaMarque; sons, Rodney Joseph, Reginald Joseph and Bryan Joseph all of Galveston; brothers, Laurence Joseph (Theresa), and Howard Joseph both of Beaumont; granddaughters, Reginell and Brianna Joseph and their mother Vergena Washington; sisters in law, Eula M. Williams, and Hilda Harris; brothers in law, Irving and Raymond Williams; devoted friends, John Lundy, Eric Dean and Martin Azore; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will begin at 4PM on Friday, February 1st followed by a wake from 7-9PM.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 2, 2008, in the chapel of E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary with Rev. Alvin Shinette officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
