Filmore W. Martin
E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary
Filmore W. Martin, 44, departed this life on Sunday, January 27, 2008, at Bay Oak Care Center.
Filmore was born August 18, 1963 in Galveston to Rufus Martin, Sr. and Ora Lee Wright Martin. A lifelong resident, Filmore was a graduate of Ball High School. He was employed as a custodian with G.I.S.D. before his health failed and also with Lakeview Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents and leaves to cherish memories a son, D’Andre Thomas Martin; daughter Ronnisha Hill; brothers, Tohmas J. Martin; William K. Martin, and Johnny Ray Martin; sisters, Margaret York and Eline Jackson (Robert Jr.); nephews, Curtis and Robert Jackson III, and Leroy York; nieces, Jo Ann and Princess York, and Lashanda and Ashley Jackson; five great nieces; devoted friend, Florence Jackson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4-8PM on today, February 1
st
at E R Johnson Family Mortuary.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 2, 2008, at Live Oak Baptist Church with Pastor Vernon L. Baines officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
