Karen Lee (McKinley) HornKaren Lee (McKinley) Horn passed from this life Tuesday morning, February 5, 2008, in Texas City.

Born October 25, 1941 in Galveston, TX, Mrs. Horn had been a resident of Santa Fe for 46 years.  She had been employed as an office manager for Union Carbide for 27 years, was a member of Arcadia First Baptist Church and thoroughly enjoyed playing and teaching piano, formerly playing for many churches.  She enjoyed traveling, reading, working crossword puzzles and especially loved her grandchildren and her dogs, Kassy and Katy.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Horn and her parents, J. J. (Mack) and Vada Lee (Tipton) McKinley.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Horn; son, Joey Horn and wife, Lara; daughter, Deidra Lee Nichols, all of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Tyler Nichols, Tara Lee Nichols, Marcus Horn, Megan Horn, Morgan Horn; brother, Jim McKinley and wife, Hattie of League City; niece, Suzanne Quinn of Spring and nephew, Mike McKinley and wife, Jodie of Texas City.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2008, at Arcadia First Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Smith officiating.  Interment will follow at Grace Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.

Casketbearers will be Doug Anderson, Sam Belcher, Roger Bradley, Joe Brantley, Loran Lance, Don Morgan, Earl Routh and Paul Siems.

Friends may call from 5 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock (409) 925-3501.
