Carnes Brothers Funeral Home

Cecilia NecoCecilia Neco, age 77, of Texas City passed away while surrounded by her devoted family, Thursday, February 7, 2008 at her residence in Texas City. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 16, 2008, with the body to lie in state beginning at 9:30 am at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in La Marque with Father T. Joseph Culver celebrant. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, in Dickinson under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home of Galveston. Visitation will be held at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston on Friday from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Cecilia was born March 4, 1930 in Marksville, Louisiana to Alvin and Rosa Lee Thomas Greenhouse. She was a member of the Queen of Peace Catholic Church and a homemaker who devoted her life to her family.

Preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Vernal A. Neco, Sr. Mrs. Neco is survived by her children, daughters, Lorraine Williams and husband Marvin, Sr. of LaMarque, and Barbara Johnson and husband John, Sr. of Texas City; sons, Louis Neco and wife Celestine of Galveston, James Neco, Sr. and wife Susan of Medina, Ohio, Vernal A. Neco, Jr. and Christopher Neco and wife Brenda all of Texas City; sister, Geneva Warren of The Woodlands; brothers, Alvin Greenhouse, Jr. and Donald Greenhouse both of Marksville, Louisiana; a life long friend and neighbor, Sadie Brockett of Texas City; 15 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers are Staff Sergeant Marcus Williams, U.S. Army, Marvin L. Williams, Jr., LaMar Williams, Sr., John M. Johnson, II, James Neco and David Neco.
