Antonette Anna (Toni) VasutAntonette Anna (Toni) Vasut, age 77, passed away Monday, February 11, 2008 in Kerrville, Texas. Born May 27, 1930 in Galveston, Texas, Toni was a lifetime resident until retirement to Comfort, Texas in 1995. Her schooling was Island Elementary (now Parker) and St. Patrick Parochial. High school was at Ursuline Academy where she graduated in the centennial class of 1947.
 
After graduation, Toni went to work for American National Insurance Company in the home office building. She worked there, with a short break in service, until her early retirement in May, 1985. From 1986 to 1990, she worked several places, including Hallmark Cards in the Galvez Plaza and the Railroad Museum. In late 1990 she started work at Star Fine Furniture in Galveston, from where she took her second retirement in May, 1994.  During her early years she loved to dance and did volunteer work as a Red Cross Gray Lacy. She also loved to travel, and for about five years, during the 1980’s operated “Travelin’ with Toni”, a travel service for senior citizens.
 
Preceding Toni in death were her father Edward Joseph Vasut and her mother Antonette Annie Bujan Vasut.
 
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 15, 2007 at J. Levy & Termini Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with a Rosary to begin at 6:00 P.M.  Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Dickinson, Texas, with Father Bill Bartniski officiating.
 
Memorials may be sent to St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 1804 69th Street, Galveston, Texas 77551 or to the charity of one’s choice.
