Jack Donald “Big Jack” McChristian

Jack Donald “Big Jack” McChristianJack Donald “Big Jack” McChristian, 48, departed this life on February 11, 2008, at UTMB Hospital.

Jack was born on June 15, 1959, in Galveston, Texas to J. D. and Annie McChristian. He was long time resident of Galveston where he attended school. He was a laborer for the labor hall, a railroad worker and a devoted employee of Gulf Coast Bails Bond for many years. He loved raising his kids and devoting all of his time to his family.

Jack was preceded in death by his stepfather, Webster Anderson; cousins, Martin, Ellis and Terry Richardson; uncles, Dennis and Sydney Richardson.

He leaves to cherish memories his loving and devoted family, mother, Annie Mae Anderson; father J.D. “Nighthawk” McChristian (Jennie); daughters Leticia Thompson (Efrom); LaTonya Minix (Jiceward); son, Lance McChristian; sister, Sandra Franklin(Robert); nephews, Marqus, Marquis, and Maurice Lowe, and Daijon Lemons; devoted aunts, Ora Bias, and Cordelia Richardson; grandchildren, Marquisha, Mason, Omar, Kasia, Paige, Alliayah, and Kerstian; extended family, Gale Lilliman; June Penningon; Tammy and Cornel Stephens; Jennifer, Alano and Giovanni Capelo; special friends, Debra Pouncy; Obie”Buckhead” Worthen, and Michael Lawrence; two great nieces and  two great nephews; a host of  aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation will begin at 4PM on Friday, February 22nd followed by a wake from 7-8PM at E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary. A service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 23, 2008, at the Gospel Baptist Church with Pastor N. Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Mainland Memorial Cemetery in Hitchcock.

Special thanks to Island Dialysis, UTMB MICU care team, Dr. Hwang, Dr. Coonsield, Dr. Takkar, Dr. Jubang, and nurses, Peri, Bennia and Tammy; and any UTMB staff that had dealing with Jack during his many times there.
