Bobby Leon Underwood
E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary
Bobby Leon Underwood, 66, departed this life on Saturday, February, 16, 2008, at UTMB Hospital.
Bobby was born on January 4, 1942, in Palestine Texas to the union of Perry and Sarah Burton Underwood. He later moved to Galveston with his family where he attended public school and was a1960 graduate of Central High School. While at Central he excelled in track, placing 1st in many of his meets. He later attended Texas Southern University. Bobby was retired from the Maxwell House Corp. after serving 35 years as a technician.
He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Clara Underwood of Houston; sisters, Ella Mae Kearney, for whom he was caring for, of Galveston, and Reba Diane Underwood of Houston; nephew, Darrell Preston; nieces, Sharon Preston, Sheree Underwood; Sarah Ann Underwood, and Desalyn Freeman; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 12 Noon, followed by service celebrating his life at 2:00PM on Saturday, February 23, 2008, in the chapel of E. R. Johnson Family Mortuary with Rev. E. R. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
